Industrial-style doors.
Industrial-style doors deliver the steel-look aesthetic — narrow vertical members, multi-pane glazing, the warehouse-conversion register that has become a contemporary classic — in thermally broken aluminium rather than steel.
The steel-look aesthetic emerged from genuine warehouse and factory glazing — the slim steel members that subdivided large industrial windows in the 19th and early 20th century, then re-emerged as a contemporary architectural reference in residential conversions and considered new-build interiors. The visual register is precise: narrow vertical mullions, narrow horizontal transoms, the glass divided into rectangular panes that read as a quiet grid.
The original material — steel — has a thermal weakness. Steel conducts heat several times more readily than aluminium, so steel-look doors and windows sit at higher whole-window U-values than properly thermally broken aluminium can deliver. The market has worked with this for decades because the aesthetic was worth the thermal compromise; what changes with the Maxlight industrial-style range is that the aesthetic does not require the compromise. The narrow mullions and transoms are aluminium with a thermal break engineered into the profile geometry; the U-value is competitive with the rest of our slim aluminium range.
Configurations match the architectural use. Single doors are common as transitions between rooms — a steel-look door between a kitchen and a dining area sits well within a contemporary classic register. French pairs are the canonical pattern at the back of a Victorian or Edwardian house, replacing original timber casements. Screens with the same slim profiles divide larger spaces — a glass wall with multi-pane reading rather than as a single sheet of glass. Oversized doors and screens push the configuration into more contemporary territory, where the brief is the steel-look mullion grid at a scale the original industrial register rarely reached.
Finishes follow the canonical register. Black is the dominant choice — RAL 9005 satin black or anodised black; matt rather than gloss reads more authentically. Anthracite (RAL 7016) and bronze finishes are common for designs that want a softer reading. We stock RAL 7016, 7021 and 9005; the full RAL palette is available to order.
Configurations.
01
Single industrial-style door
A single hinged door in the steel-look register. Common as a kitchen-to-dining or hallway-to-room transition.
02
French-pair industrial-style doors
A pair of hinged doors meeting at a centre seal. The canonical pattern at the back of a period property where the original was a timber casement.
03
Industrial-style screen
A glazed wall in the same slim mullion grid — used as a room divider where the brief is for visual continuity but spatial separation.
04
Oversized industrial-style configuration
Single doors, pairs, or screens at scales beyond the original industrial register. Contemporary use of the visual language at a more architectural scale.

Frequently asked questions
What colours are available for your products?
We offer the full RAL Classic colour range (216 colours), giving you complete flexibility to match your design vision. Whether you’re looking for bold contemporary tones or subtle architectural finishes, we can accommodate your requirements.
Do you offer anodised finishes?
Anodised finishes are available on request. Please speak to our team to discuss options and suitability for your project.
What locking options are available, and can they be colour matched?
Our doors are fitted with high-quality locking systems, including bottom locks (non-PAS 24) and PAS 24-rated side locks. While the lock barrels are not colour matched, the escutcheons (visible lock surrounds) can be finished to match your frame colour for a seamless look.
What security rating do your doors have?
Our systems can be configured with PAS 24-rated side locks, providing enhanced security for residential applications.
What security certification do you offer?
We offer systems that comply with PAS 24, a recognised UK standard for enhanced security performance.
Are your warranties transferable?
Our warranties are property-based rather than person-based, meaning they remain valid if ownership of the property change
Can I view your products in a showroom?
We offer a virtual showroom experience, which can be arranged through your sales contact.
Can I visit in person?
Yes, visits can be arranged by appointment at our showroom at 333A Western Avenue, London, W3 0BE
What are your typical lead times?
Our process is carefully structured to ensure precision and quality: - Survey Stage: Approximately 1 week to carry out a site survey, provided the site is fully prepared. We’ll supply clear guidelines in advance. - Design & Drawing Stage: Around 2 weeks (or up to 3 weeks for more complex projects such as glass boxes) from survey completion and receipt of all required technical details. - Manufacture & Installation: Approximately 8 weeks from final approval of drawings, with installation scheduled shortly after. Your project timeline will always be confirmed by your sales contact based on scope and complexity.
Do you offer bi-fold doors?
We specialise in premium glazing systems that prioritise longevity and performance. Bi-fold doors typically require more maintenance due to their multiple moving parts and top-hung weight distribution. For this reason, we focus on alternative systems that offer cleaner aesthetics, smoother operation, and reduced long-term maintenance.
Will you liaise with my architect or builder?
Absolutely. We regularly collaborate with architects, builders, and project teams to ensure your design is delivered exactly as intended.
What areas do you cover?
We operate across the whole of the United Kingdom.
